Classic Quarters Group was contracted to undertake the internal demolition and combining of two separate premises for Mamak Restaurant in Chinatown. After numerous meetings the owners and Classic Quarters devised a program to enable the existing restaurant to keep trading while the new work to the premises next door would begin. This ensured the clients an extra 3 weeks of trading before their restaurant would have to be closed.
Most work was completed on the new premises before we demolished the dividing wall and began works on the existing restaurant. This award-winning restaurant increased its capacity from approx. 40 seats to 120 within the 4 week time frame.
We also refurbished the male and female toilets. Many of the finishes were chosen after the signing of the contract and these were decided after consultation with the owners.
The front kitchen area and huge glass shop front is the feature of the new restaurant with potential customers able to see the master chef's at work from the street. This was a challenging job with a tight schedule, OH & S requirements, engineering issues and mid city location with no truck/car access.
